The Experience

  • I will give you lots of tips and tricks so you look your best on your special day. The consultation will help me understand the look and feel you want to achieve, so we can pick out the right outfit, get the right location, and think about the right make-up.

  • As a full service photography studio, we can provide the make-up and hair touch-up services so you don’t have to worry about it. Let us know how you like your make-up, how you like your hair, and we’ll do the rest!

  • Sometimes it is difficult to know how to pose. But I’ll help you figure out your posing so you’ll look your best!

  • I offer in-studio locations around the Sacramento and Bay area. Or, if you would feel more comfortable in your own home/office, we can work there, too.

  • Shortly after your shoot we will work through the best images of the day so you can order. You only have to pay for the images you want to keep.

    Consultation

Our journey together begins with a complimentary consultation session. This is a chance for us to connect and for me to understand your vision and expectations for your portrait session.

During this relaxed and informal conversation, I'll ask questions like: What are the specific moments or emotions you'd like to capture? Are there any themes or styles you're particularly drawn to? How do you envision these portraits being used or displayed?

This is your opportunity to share your ideas, preferences, and the unique facets of your personality that you'd like to shine through in your photos. With this insight, I can craft a portrait session that is tailored specifically to you, ensuring we capture images that truly reflect your individuality.

    Planning

Once we've established your vision during the consultation, we move on to the exciting stage of planning. Together, we'll create a mood board, typically through Pinterest, that will serve as a visual guide for your portrait session.

This board will become a dynamic collage of styles, themes, and aesthetics that you're drawn to. I encourage you to add any examples of hair styles, makeup looks, and photos that inspire you.

This collaborative planning process ensures that your unique tastes and preferences are at the heart of every decision, paving the way for a portrait session that truly mirrors your vision.

    Session

The day of your portrait session is where our meticulous planning comes to life! Upon arrival, you'll spend the first hour with our skilled makeup and hair professionals, if requsted, which helps you achieve the perfect look to match your style and vision.

With your transformation complete, we'll transition to the photoshoot, which will span the next couple hours. Over this time, we'll explore 2-3 different looks, giving you a range of images that capture different facets of your personality. Depending on the looks we've planned, there may also be an opportunity to adjust your makeup midway through.

This dynamic approach allows for a variety of creative expressions and ensures that your final images reflect the full spectrum of your unique identity.

    Reveal

The final stage of our journey together is as exciting as the first—the reveal session. In this session, we'll review the photos from your session, allowing you to select the ones that truly resonate with you.

This is your opportunity to see yourself through the lens of emotive minimalism, to rediscover facets of your personality captured in unique frames. Once your favorites are chosen, we'll discuss how best to immortalize these images. Whether you desire a beautifully crafted album, fine art prints in large formats up to 40x60, or have other bespoke ideas, I'm here to bring your vision to life.

The reveal session is about more than selecting photos—it's about celebrating your journey and choosing how to share and preserve your unique story through art.
